Hepcat

Hepcat is an influential Los Angeles-based band, formed in 1989 and are known
for their deep reverence for classic Jamaican music. Hepcat played a pivotal
role in the 1990’s ska revival, releasing seminal albums like Out of Nowhere
(Moon Records), Scientific (BYO Records), Right on time, and Push N Shove
(Hellcat/Epitaph Records), solidifying their status as torchbearers for a revival of
authentic Jamaican sounds.

Hepcat’s mastery of traditional ska, rocksteady, and reggae, characterized by
soulful vocals, intricate horn arrangements, and a commitment to authentic
rhythms set them apart and has earned them a dedicated fanbase that included
rastas, punks, mods, and jazz fans alike.

Hepcat were often the first to introduce their unique take on Ska, Rocksteady,
