The Bala Heads + Katy J

The Bala Heads + Katy J are a Hawaii-based band brought together to perform the music of songwriters Richard Adoradio, Katy J, and Ron Evans.

Richard Adoradio (guitar, vocals, cajon) and Tom Penny (saxophone, harmonica, vocals) are both longtime residents of the Big Island and are deeply involved with the music community there.

Katy J (guitar, bass, vocals) is a music teacher, recording artist, and former resident of Kailua-Kona (also on the Big Island). She is fresh off the plane from touring Europe with The Durgas as their bass player and backing vocalist. She has also toured with them in Hawaii, along with their former tour mate, Tom Penny.

Ron Evans (guitar, ukulele, bass, vocals) was born and raised on Oahu and frequently performs solo around Honolulu, playing all his favorites, including slack key Hawaiian music. He plays with Tom P. whenever they have the opportunity, mostly during downtime while working as grips in the film industry.

As a group, everybody is excited to perform their original music at Warped Tour Unplugged ~ Long Beach!
